Ubud

After a week in Bingin it was time to move, so we lugged all of our gear up the multitude of steps and caught a ride to Ubud. Our new buddy Sharif (from Casablanca) joined us, and thanks to him we found our new homestay in the middle of the rice paddies.

It was a relaxing week. Had some great food, got an epic massage, Veronica got attacked by monkeys at the Sacred Monkey Forest and we found some delicious organic chocolate coffee. We even went to check out the 'Bali Dali', a Spanish artist who was obsessed with Balinese breasts. He was good friends with Michael Jackson, need I say more?

Bingin Part 4 (Kelly's Warung)

Best place to stay in Bingin, without a doubt. And hands down the best toilets as well.

Bingin Part 3 (village dance party)

We got invited to the village dance on our first Friday night by the owners of our warung, Made and Ricki. The dance was the last celebration in a week long wedding. The traditional Balinese dancers picked 2 whitey's out of the crowd, of which I was one. Judging by the photos I should have had a few beers to loosen the old limbs.

Bingin Part 2 (lunch with a view)

What can beat a delicious chicken burger and chips washed down with Coke for lunch? Probably only the glorious view.

Bingin

Veronica and I spent our first week in Bali in Bingin, a small little beach on the Bukit Peninsula. Stayed right on the beach at Kelly's Warung, in a room overlooking the surf for $15 a night. I got some pretty epic waves and we made some good friends. It was the perfect start to a great month.

TJ's, the best Mexican joint in Kuta

Our first night in Bali, and of course we headed straight to TJ's after checking into a hotel in Kuta. It had been 8 years since I had last eaten at TJ's and I was praying the food was as good as I remembered.

And it was. Love me some tacos!

Gorgeous Sunrise in Denmark, WA

Apologies for the lack of posts. Internet connection in West Oz and Indonesia made posting pictures impossible. Now that we are in the land of the Rising Sun and the super fast internet connection we will catch up and be posting pics every day.

Valley of the Giants

This national park, in the Southern region of Western Oz is home to some TALL trees. Tall trees are cool, but the sweet part of this place is the Tree Top walk, which puts you 40 meters up into the canopy of the forest.

My fear of heights was not helped by the fact that the metal structure swayed with the combination of wind and people walking on the path. Regardless, a really cool place to check out.
